The
People¨s Bank of China will issue a set of 2004 Guanyin
Precious Metal Commemorative Coins on Dec. 28, 2004.
This set of commemorative coins comprises 3 coins, including
one gold coin, one platinum coin, and one silver coin,
which are all legal tender of the People¨s Republic
of China.
I. Designs of
the coins
i. The
obverse design
The common obverse design
of this set of commemorative coins features the Pilgrimage
Gate of the Putuo Mountain, the title of the PRC, year
of the issuance, and Chinese characters ＾噸羊表劾淵壇￣.
ii.
The reverse designs
i>.
The identical reverse design of the 1/10oz. gold coin
and the 1/10oz. platinum coin features the White Stole
Guanyin, and the face value.
ii>.
The reverse design of the 1kg. silver coin features
the image of Guanyin, and the face value.
II. The specifications
and mintages of the coins
i. The
1/10oz. gold coin is proof in quality, contains 1/10oz.
of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, round in shape, 18mm
in diameter, 50 Yuan in face value, the mintage is 33,000
pieces.
ii. The
1/10oz. platinum coin is proof in quality, contains
1/10oz. of pure platinum, 99.95% in purity, round in
shape, 18mm in diameter, 100 Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 33,000 pieces.
iii.
The 1kg. silver coin is proof in quality, contains 1kg.
of pure silver, 99.9% in purity, round in shape, 100mm
in diameter, 300 Yuan in face value, the mintage is
3,800 pieces.
III.
This set of commemorative coins are products
of the Shanghai Mint, Shenzhen Guobao Coinage Co. Ltd,
and PAMP.S.A Switzerland, the general distributor is
