  The People’s Bank of China will issue a set of gold and silver commemorative coins for the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 on Jan. 18, 2005. This set consists 3 coins, including one gold coin, and two silver coins. All these coins are legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.
  I. Designs of the Coins
  i. The Obverse Designs:
  The common obverse design features the logo of 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany (colored), together with the title of the PRC, and the issuance year.
  ii. The Reverse Designs:
  i>. The reverse design on the 1/4oz. gold coin features the bi-lingual characters of ‘FIFA World Cup Germany 2006’, both in Chinese and English; the image of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing; a football; and the face value.
  ii>. The reverse design on the 1oz. silver coin features the bi-lingual characters of ‘FIFA World Cup Germany 2006’, both in Chinese and English; the image of an ancient Chinese in a kicking posture; a net ball; and the face value.
  iii>. The reverse design on the 1kg silver coin features Chinese characters “2006年德国世界杯足球赛纪念”; FIFA World Cup trophy; and the face value.
  II. The specifications & Mintages:
  i. The 1/4oz. gold coin is proof finished, contains 1/4oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, round in shape, 22mm in diameter, 100Yuan in face value. The mintage is 10,000pc.
  ii. The 1oz. silver coin is proof finished, contains 1oz. of pure silver, 99.9% in purity, round in shape, 40mm in diameter, 10Yuan in face value. The mintage is 50,000pc.
  iii. The 1kg. silver coin is proof finished, contains 1kg. of pure silver, 99.9% in purity, round in shape, 100mm in diameter, 300Yuan in face value. The mintage is 3,000pc.
  III. This set of commemorative coins are products of Shanghai Mint. The general distributor is CGCI.
