of the People¨s Bank of China

The
People¨s Bank of China will issue a set
of 2005 Panda Precious Metal Commemorative
Coins on Nov. 26, 2004. This set of coins
consists of 12 coins, including 7 gold
coins, 3 silver coins, 1 platinum coin,
a palladium coin. All the coins are legal
tender of the People¨s Republic of China.
I. Designs
of the coins
The 12 coins share the same obverse
design in common which features the Temple
of Heaven in Beijing, and the title of
the People¨s Republic of China and the
year of issuance; the common reverse design
features the image of the mother panda
and her son, and the face value.
II. The specifications
and mintages
i.> The 1/20oz. gold coin is bullion
in quality, contains 1/20oz. of pure gold,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 14mm
in diameter, 20Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 200,000pc.
ii.> The 1/10oz. gold coin is bullion
in quality, contains 1/10oz. of pure gold,
99.9% in quality, round in shape, 18mm
in diameter, 50Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 150,000pc.
iii.> The 1/4oz. gold coin is bullion
in quality, contains 1/4oz. pure gold,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 22mm
in diameter, 100Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 60,000pc.
iv.> The 1/2oz. gold coin is bullion
in quality, contains 1/2oz. of pure gold,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 27mm
in diameter, 200Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 60,000pc.
v.> The 1oz. gold coin is bullion
in quality, contains 1oz. of pure gold,
round in shape, 32mm in diameter, 500Yuan
in face value, the mintage is 150,000pc.
vi.> The 5oz. gold coin is proof
in quality, contains 5oz. of pure gold,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 60mm
in diameter, 2,000Yuan in face value,
the mintage is 1,000pc.
vii.> The 1kg. gold coin is proof
in quality, contains 1kg. of pure gold,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 90mm
in diameter, 10,000Yuan in face value,
the mintage is 100pc.
viii.> The 1oz. silver coin is bullion
in quality, contains 1oz. of pure silver,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 40mm
in diameter, 10Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 600,000pc.
ix.> The 5oz. silver coin is proof
in quality, contains 5oz. of pure silver,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 70mm
in diameter, 50Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 10,000pc.
x.> The 1kg. silver coin is proof
in quality, contains 1kg. of pure silver,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 100mm
in diameter, 300Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 4,000pc.
xi.> The 1/10oz. platinum coin is
proof in quality, contains 1/10oz. of
pure platinum, 99.9% in purity, round
in shape, 18mm in diameter, 100Yuan in
face value, the mintage is 30,000pc.
xii.> The 1/2oz. palladium coin is
proof in quality, contains 1/2oz. palladium,
99.9% in purity, round in shape, 30mm
in diameter, 100Yuan in face value, the
mintage is 8,000pc.
III. This
set of coins were minted by Shanghai Mint,
Shenyang Mint, and Shenzhen Guobao Minting
Co. Ltd., and exclusively distributed
by China Gold Coin Incorporation.
