The
People's Bank of China will issue a set of Chinese Classical
Literary Works ---Pilgrimage To The West commemorative
colored gold and silver coins (the 3rd set) on Sep.
15th, 2005. This set of commemorative coins comprises
6 coins, 2 gold coins, 4 silver coins, all of which
are the legal tender of the People's Republic of China.
I. Designs on the commemorative
coins
i. The obverse designs
The common obverse design is On The Scripture-seeking
Route to India, the title of the PRC and the issuing
year.
ii. The reverse
designs
i>. The reverse
design on the 1/2oz gold coin portrays Chang'e subduing
monster rabbit, and the face value.
ii>. The reverse
designs on the 1oz silver coin (2 pieces) respectively
portray 1) The monkey King fight with seven spiders,
and 2) The monkey King borrow fan three times from princess
TieShan, and the face values.
iii>. The reverse
design on the 5oz gold coin portrays triumph over monsters
in Biqiu, and the face value.
iv>.The reverse
design on the 5oz silver coin portrays the monster lion
subdued by buddha Wenshu, and the face value.
v>.The reverse
design on the 1kg silver coin portrays gain the lection,
and the face value.
II. Specifications and
Mintages:
i. The 1/2oz gold
coin is proof finished, round in shape, 27mm in diameter,
200 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in purity, and contains
1/2oz of pure gold. The mintage is 11,800 pieces.
ii. The 1oz silver
coins are proof finished, round in shape, 40mm in diameter,
10 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in purity. Each contains
1oz of pure silver, and has a mintage of 38,000 pieces.
iii. The 5oz gold
coin is proof finished, rectangular in shape, 64mm〜40mm
in dimension, 2,000 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in purity,
and contains 5oz of pure gold. The mintage is 500 pieces.
iv. The 5oz silver
coin is proof finished, rectangular in shape, the specification
is 80mm〜50mm, 50 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in purity,
and contains 5oz of pure silver, the mintage is 10,000
pieces.
v. The 1kg silver
coin is proof finished, round in shape, 100mm in diameter,
300 Yuan in face value, 99.9% in purity, and contains
1kg oz of pure silver. The mintage is 5000 pieces.
III. This set of commemorative
colored gold and silver coins is minted by Shenzhen
Guobao Mint Ltd, Shenyang Mint, and distributed exclusively
by China Gold Coin Incorporation. |
