The People's Bank of China will issue 2006 New Year Greeting General Commemorative Coin on Jan. 6 2006, this

set include one coin.

I. Design of the commemorative coin

The obverse design of the coin features "中国人民银行"(means the People's Bank of China), "1元"(means one

Yuan), and Chinese alphabet "YIYUAN", as well as "2006".The reverse design of the coin features a child in

Chinese traditional garment playing with a dog. The background is flying snowflakes. Chinese character "丙戌"

is engraved on the lower part of the coin.

II. The face value, specification, metal and mintage of the coin

The face value of the coin is one Yuan, the diameter is 25mm. The coin was made of brass alloy, issued in a

mintage of 10,000,000pc..

III. This commemorative coin functions equally to the currency of the PRC., circulate equivalent with the same face valued Renminbi.
