The People’s Bank of China will issue a set of 2006 Panda Gold and Silver　Commemorative Coins on Nov. 18, 2005. This set of coins consists of 10 coins, including 7 gold coins, 3 silver coins. All the coins are legal tender of the People’s Republic of China. 　 　　

　　I. Designs of the coins

　　This set of Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins shares the same obverse design in common which features the Hall of Praying for Good Harvest of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, and the title of the People’s Republic of China and the year of issuance; the common reverse design features the image of two pandas, and the face value.　　　　　　　　　

　　II. The specifications and mintages

i.> The 1/20oz. round gold coin is bullion in quality, contains 1/20oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 14mm in diameter, 20Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 200,000pc.

ii.> The 1/10oz. round gold coin is bullion in quality, contains 1/10oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 18mm in diameter, 50Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 150,000pc.

iii.> The 1/4oz. round gold coin is bullion in quality, contains 1/4oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 22mm in diameter, 100Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 60,000pc.

iv.> The 1/2oz. round gold coin is bullion in quality, contains 1/2oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 27mm in diameter, 200Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 60,000pc.

v.> The 1oz. round gold coin is bullion in quality, contains 1oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 32mm in diameter, 500Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 150,000pc.

vi.> The 5oz. round gold coin is proof in quality, contains 5oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 60mm in diameter, 2,000Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 1,000pc.

vii.> The 1kg round gold coin is proof in quality, contains 1kg of pure gold, 99.9% in purity, 90mm in diameter, 10,000Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 200pc.

viii.> The 1oz. round silver coin is bullion in quality, contains 1oz. of pure silver, 99.9% in purity, 40mm in diameter, 10Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 600,000pc.

ix.> The 5oz. round silver coin is proof in quality, contains 5oz. of pure silver, 99.9% in purity, 70mm in diameter, 50Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 10,000pc.

x.> The 1kg round silver coin is proof in quality, contains 1kg of pure silver, 99.9% in purity, 100mm in diameter, 300Yuan in face value, the maximal mintage is 4,000pc.
