| The
People’s Bank of China will issue a set of Qing-Zang-Railway Open
to Traffic Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins on June.23, 2006.
This set of commemorative coins comprises one gold coin and one
silver coin, both of which are the legal tender of the People’s
Republic of China.
I. Design of the coins:
i. Obverse design on the coin. The obverse design of the 1/4oz.
gold bullion coin features the Map of Qing-Zang-Railway and Tracklayer,
and the title of the People’s Republic of China, year 2006. The
obverse design of the 1oz. silver bullion coin features the Lhasa
Railway Station and Mountainous and the title of the People’s
Republic of China, year 2006.
ii. Reverse design on the coin. The reverse design of the 1/4oz.
gold bullion coin features the Kunlun Tunnel and the face value,
as well as both Chinese and Tibetan characters”青藏铁路全线通车纪念” . The
reverse design of the 1oz. silver bullion coin features the Sources
of the Yangtze River Bridge, Yak, Tibetan Antelope and the Jokul
and the face value, as well as both Chinese and Tibetan characters”青藏铁路全线通车纪念”
.
II. The specifications and mintages:
i. the 1/4oz. round gold coin is bullion in quality, contains
1/4oz. of pure gold, 22mm in diameter, 100Yuan in face value,
99.9% in purity, the mintage is 16,000pc.
ii. the 1oz.round silver coin is bullion in quality, contains
1oz. of pure silver, 40mm in diameter, 10Yuan in face value, 99.9%
in purity, the mintage is 36,000pc.
III. This set of gold and silver commemorative
coins were minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint, and exclusively distributed
by China Gold Coin Incorporation.
