The
People's Bank of China will issue a set of The
Success of China's First Manned Spaceflight
Commemorative Gold and Silver Coins on Dec.
29th 2003. This set comprises 2 coins, one is
gold, the other is silver. They are legal tender
of the PRC..
I. Designs on the coins:
This set of Commemorative coins share common
designs on both the obverse and the reverse.
The common obverse design features decorative
patterns of the celestial body of the Solar
system, as well as the title of the PRC. and
the year 2003; the reverse design features the
image of China's first astronaut, rocket, spaceship,
decorative pattern of celestial body, Chinese
characters "中国首次载人航天飞行成功纪念", and the
face value.
II. Specifications and mintages of the coins:
i. The gold commemorative coin is proof in quality,
contains 1/3oz. of pure gold, 99.9% in purity,
round in shape, 23mm in diameter, 150Yuan in
face value. The mintage is 30,000 pieces.
ii. The silver commemorative coin is proof in
quality, contains 1oz. of pure silver, 99.9%
in purity, round in shape, 40mm in diameter,
10Yuan in face value. The mintage is 60,000
pieces.
III. This set of gold and silver commemorative
coins are minted by Shenyang mint, exclusively
distributed by China Gold Coin Incorporation. |
