The People’s Bank of China
will issue a set of ‘Chinese resistance war against
Japan and the World War of Resistance Against
the Fascist Commemorative Gold and Silver Coins’
on August 15,2005.. This set contains 2 coins
in all, one is gold, the other is silver. All
the coins are the legal tender of the People’s
Republic of China.
I. Designs on the coins
i. The obverse designs
The common obverse design features the image
of a majestic lion and the Great Wall, with the
number ”1945-2005” and the title of PRC, as well
as the year of issuance.
ii. The reverse designs
i>. The reverse design on the 1/2oz. gold
coin features the sculpture of Chinese army-civilian
resistance against Japanese invaders, the image
of Beijing Lugou Bridge and the Stele Kiosk, Chinese
characters ‘中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利60周年’, and the
face value.
ii>. The reverse designs on the 1oz. silver
coins features: the pattern of Chinese people
celebrating the victory of the resistance war
against Japan, the Yan’an Baotai tower, Chinese
characters ‘中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利60周年’ and the face
value.
II. The specifications and mintages
i. The 1/2oz. gold coin is proof finished, contains
1/2oz. of pure gold, round in shape, 27mm in diameter,
￥200 in face value, 99.9% in purity, and the mintage
is 5000pc.
ii. The 1oz. silver coins are proof finished,
contains 1oz. of pure silver, round in shape,
40mm in diameter, ￥10 in face value, 99.9% in
purity, and the mintage is 30000pc.
III. This set of commemorative coins were jointly
minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint and Shenyang Mint.
