The People’s Bank
of China will issue a set of ‘The Centennial of Chinese
Movie Commemorative Gold and Silver Coins’ on Dec.1st,
2005. This set of
Commemorative Coins comprises one gold coin and one
silver coin, both of which are the legal tender of the
People’s Republic of China.
I. Designs on the coins
i. The obverse designs
The common obverse design features ornamental column,
fireworks, peony and filmstrip, with the title of the
PRC and the year of issuance.
ii. The reverse designs
i>. The reverse design on the 1/3oz. gold coin features
the slate and ‘100’, with Chinese characters ‘中国电影百年’
and the face value.
ii>. The reverse design on the 1oz. silver coin
features the video camera and magazine, with Chinese
characters ‘中国电影百年’ and the face value.
II. The specifications and mintages:
i. The 1/3oz. round gold coin is proof in quality,
contains 1/3oz. of pure gold, 23mm in diameter, 150Yuan
in face value, 99.9% in purity, the mintage is 20,000pc.
ii. The 1oz.round silver coin is proof in quality,
contains 1oz. of pure silver, 40mm in diameter, 10Yuan
in face value, 99.9% in purity, the mintage is 60,000pc.
III. This set of gold and silver commemorative coins
were minted by Shenzhen Guobao Minting Co. Ltd. and
Shenyang Mint, and exclusively distributed by China
Gold Coin Incorporation.
