The People¨s
Bank of China will issue a set of 2005
Chinese Yiyou Year (year of the rooster)
Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins on
Oct. 23, 2004. This set of commemorative
coins comprises of 12 coins, 6 are gold,
6 are silver, all of which are the legal
tender of the PRC.
I.
Designs of the coins:
i. The obverse designs:
The common obverse design of the following
10 coins features the decorative pattern
of rooster on Chinese ancient bronze ware
and patterns of cockscomb, together with
the title of the PRC, and the year 2005:
The 1/10oz. round gold coin, 1/10oz.
round colored gold coin, 1oz. round silver
coin, 1oz. round colored silver coin,
1kg. round silver coin, 1/2oz. quincunx
gold coin, 1kg. quincunx gold coin, 1oz.
quincunx silver coin, 5oz. oblong gold
coin, 5oz. oblong silver coin.
The common obverse design on the following
2 coins features the scenery of Juyongguan
of the Great Wall, together with the title
of the PRC, and the year 2005:
The 1/2oz. sector gold coin, 1oz. sector
silver coin.
ii. The reverse designs:
The common reverse designs of the following
4 coins features the paintings f chicken,
and the face value:
The 1/10oz. round gold coin, 1oz. round
silver coin, 1/2oz. quincunx gold coin,
1oz. quincunx silver coin.
The common reverse design on the following
2 coins features the colored painting
of rooster, and the face values:
The 1/10oz. round colored gold coin,
1oz. round colored silver coin.
The common reverse design on the following
2 coins features another painting of rooster,
and the face values:
The 1kg. round silver coin, 1kg. quincunx
gold coin.
The common reverse design on the following
4 coins features another painting of rooster,
and the face values:
The 5oz. oblong gold coin, 5oz. oblong
silver coin, 1/2oz. sector gold coin,
1oz. sector silver coin.
II.
Specifications and mintage of the commemorative
coins:
i. The 1/10oz. round bullion gold coin
contains 1/10oz. of pure gold, 18mm in
diameter, 50Yuan in face value, 99.9%
in purity, the mintage is 60,000pc.
ii. The 1/10oz. round colored proof
gold coin contains 1/10oz. of pure gold,
18mm in diameter, 50Yuan in face value,
99.9% in purity, the mintage is 30,000pc.
iii. The 1/2oz. sector bullion gold
coin contains 1/2oz. of pure gold, 58mm
in circumradius, 39mm in internal diameter,
30 degrees in central angle, 200Yuan in
face value, 99.9% in purity, the mintage
is 6,600pc.
iv. The 1/2oz. quincunx proof gold coin
contains 1/2oz. of pure gold, 27mm in
diameter of circumcircle, 200Yuan in face
value, 99.9% in purity, the mintage is
8,000pc.
v. The 1kg. quincunx proof gold coin
contains 1kg. of pure gold, 100mm in diameter
of circumcircle, 10,000Yuan in face value,
99.9% in purity, the mintage is 15pc.
vi. The 5oz. oblong proof gold coin
contains 5oz. of pure gold, 64mm〜40mm
in specification, 2,000Yuan in face value,
99.9% in purity, the mintage is 118pc.
vii. The 1oz. round bullion silver coin
contains 1oz. of pure silver, 40mm in
diameter, 10Yuan in face value, 99.9%
in purity, the mintage is 80,000pc.
viii. The 1oz. round colored proof silver
coin contains 1oz. of pure silver, 40mm
in diameter, 10Yuan in face value, 99.9%
in purity, the mintage is 100,000pc.
ix. The 1oz. quincunx proof silver coin
contains 1oz. of pure silver, 40mm in
diameter of circumcircle, 10Yuan in face
value, 99.9% in purity, the mintage is
60,000pc.
x. The 1kg. round proof silver coin
contains 1kg. of pure silver, 100mm in
diameter, 300Yuan in face value, 99.9%
in purity, the mintage is 3,800pc.
xi. The 1oz. sector bullion silver coin
contains 1oz. of pure silver, 85mm in
circumradius, 60mm in internal diameter,
30 degrees in central angle, 10Yuan in
face value, 99.9% in purity, the mintage
is 66,000pc.
xii. The 5oz. oblong proof silver coin
contains 5oz. of pure silver, 80mm〜50mm
in specification, 50Yuan in face value,
the mintage is 1,888pc.
III.
This set of gold and silver commemorative
coins were minted separately by Shenzhen
Guobao Coinage Inc. Ltd., Shanghai Mint,
Shenyang Mint and FAUDE&HUGUENINSA
Switzerland, exclusively distributed by
China Gold Coin Incorporation. |
