in the world. Through painstaking efforts of Chinese athletes, China gained 28 gold coins as the number 3 in the

2000 Sydney Olympic games, which showcased China¡¯s sports revival to the world.

China has issued several sets of commemorative coins under the theme of Olympics, such as: the commemorative

gold, silver, and copper coins for the 13th Winter Olympic Games; the commemorative silver coins for the 23rd

Summer Olympic Games; the gold and silver commemorative coins for the 26th Summer Olympic Games.
