I. Sign the cooperation
contract. According to the international practice, the package
issuance plan of the modern Olympic
coins is generally put forward by the currency issuance organization
of the hosting country ( in America, it need the approval
of the State Council ), and the issuance organization shall
sign a cooperation contract with the Olympics Organization
Committee of the hosting city, clearly define the rights and
the duties of the two sides. These rights and duties mainly
reflected in the following ways:
i. The issuance organization enjoy the rights
of using Olympic emblem, mark, name, mascot and venues on
the design of
the commemorative coins, and shall also obligate the duty
of propagandizing the Olympic spirit and the people, history
and
the natural environment of the hosting country through the
design of the coins.
ii. The Olympics Organization Committee enjoys
the rights of sharing the profits of commemorative coins on
behalf of their
own or on behalf of Olympics organizations of different levels;
state their views and raise suggestions on the draft designs
and shall obligate their duty of propagandizing the commemorative
coins project in cooperation with the currency issuance
organization.
II. There is no fixed and
unified proportion on the share of profits. According to international
practice, the profits of hosting
Olympic Games shall be handed in to the Organization Committee
of the hosting country unitedly by the contractor, then the
Organization Committee exercise the rights of distributing
it. To be concrete, in the profit distribution of the Sydney
Olympic
Games, the Organization Committee of Sydney share 7% of the
total profits, the IOC share 3%, the Olympics Organization
Committee of the buying countries share 3%. The total profits
account in the profits of every sale accumulatively, and
handed in to the Organization Committee of the hosting country
in several stages ( generally 2-3 month ).
III. The earliest issuance
of the Olympic Games Commemorative Coins shall be after the
previous Olympic Games and its
following Paralympic Games, otherwise, it would affect the
issuance of the commemorative coins of the previous Olympic
Games.
