Olympic Flag
|
The
Olympic flag is white with five interlaced rings in the center with
colors blue, yellow, black, green and red from left to right, and
has no
border. It was designed with Coubertin's suggestion in 1913 and was
raised for the first time in Paris 1914 Olympic Games to celebrate
the
twentieth anniversary of the modern Olympic Movement. Since then,
a
flag handing over ceremony is held on the opening of the Olympic Games.
In the ceremony, the
representative of the last host city hands in the flag to the president
of the IOC, then he passes it to the
mayor of the host city.Stored in the municipal building for four years,
the flag then goes to the mayor of the
next host city. |
