The obverse of the coin features two snowflakes stylised in
the same fashion as the snowflake found on the official logo
of Sapporo 72.

Reverse:
Olympic Torch
The reverse of the coin features an Olympic torch with a Japanese
legend meaning "Japan" and a Japanese text meaning
"100 Yen"
An interesting fact is that for the second time Japan was
the first country to feature a design of an Olympic torch
on its coins.
