In commemoration of the first world women's
football championships, the People's Bank of China issued the set
of the
first world women's football championships commemorative gold and
silver coins in 1991. There are altogether three,
one is gold and the other two are silver.The common
obverses depict the picture of the
Wanghai Tower (Watching-Sea
Tower), the title of the PRC, the issuing year and ' the first world
women's football championships' in Chinese. The
reverse of the gold coin
depicts a girl running with a ball, the Great Wall of China, the
face value and ' the first world
women's football championships' in English. The reverses
of the silver coins depict two girls
scrabbling for the football
and three girls playing with the football respectively, the face
value and ' the first world women's football championships'
in English.
