The series is
a very affordable celebration of the Games
|

|
A series
of human arms representing
the 17 sports are
displayed on the reverses of two of the coins. |
The third coin of the set is the centrepiece
which displays
the Australian Commonwealth Games Association logo, a
stylised blue pad-printed
kangaroo, on its reverse.

On each coin, surrounding the depiction of the logo and the
sports represented by a series of extended arms, are the
words: The XVII Commonwealth Games Manchester 2002.The obverse
of each coin displays the standard image of
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley and, in
words, the denomination Five Dollars. |

The three coins in this set depict
the 17 sports that Australian athletes will be contesting at the Games,
and the logo of
the Australian Commonwealth Games Association. A powder coated presentation
case, with an embossed outer box,
houses the three encapsulated coins and the Certificate of Authenticity
signed by the Controller of the Mint. Just 20 000
of these sets are produced. |
