In order to secure the design, production and distribution work of Chinese Modern Precious

Metal Commemorative Coins ( CMPMCC ), publicize Chinese coin culture and popularize the

knowledge of coins, CGCI has established its supporting system which includes The Design

and Sample Coin Appraisal Committee of CMPMCC, International Coins Exposition; the issue

of professional magazine China Gold Coin and the propaganda net www.chinagoldcoin.net;

and also domestic and international distribution network.

1. The Design and Sample Coin Appraisal Committee of CMPMCC

Under care and support of the People's Bank of China, the committee was founded at the

beginning of year 2000 by CGCI. Its responsibility is to select the best draft designs and sample

coins so that the CMPMCC will be more academic in artistic value. The committee shall work

in line with following stipulations: the committee must work under the guidance of concerned

legislative regulations of the PBC, Regulations of the People's Republic of China Governing the

Renminbi; to advocate Chinese traditional art through the combination of design and advanced

minting technologies.

2. International Coins Expositions

After the successful hold of 1995 Beijing International Coin Exposition, there has been 7 such

expositions held in China. And now this influential exposition has already become a

professional international coin convention in Asia Pacific Region. Jointly organized by CGCI,

China Banknote Printing & Minting Corp., China Numismatic Museum and China National

Philatelic Corporation, this annual event is usually held in October or November. Among these

7 expositions, cross-field expositions of stamps and coins were jointly organized by CGCI and

China National Philatelic Corporation in year 1995, 1997, 2000 and 2002. Various activities

were often held in the expositions, such as World Mint Forum on Minting Technology, multilateral

meetings among distributors, special exhibition and auction of coins and stamps, etc.. Major

mints and coin dealers in the world usually take part in in the events. Aiming at advocating coin

culture and monetary policies, such events enhance the coin culture exchange among contries

and propel a international cooperation of technology. One of the characteristics of the event is its

big volume of trade and huge number of visitors.

3. China Gold Coin Magazine

First published in May 2000, China Gold Coin is a quarterly publication with article digest in

English. Its purpose is to advocate Chinese civilization and coin culture, popularize the knowledge

of coin collecting, guide the market, cultivate the public awareness of coin investment and to set

up bridges among collectors.

Its major columns include: "News and Information", "Numismatic Knowledge", "Precious Metal

Coin Market", "International Precious Metal Coins", "Coin Appreciation", "Laws and Regulations",

"Intercommunication Between Editors and Readers".

4. www.Chinagoldcoin.net

Established in October, 2000, www.chinagoldcoin.net is one of the major propaganda organ of

CGCI. www.chinagoldcoin.net functioned similarly with China Gold Coin magazine, is an on-line

news express department. Today, www.chinagoldcoin.net has developed two versions, the

Chinese version and the English version.
