Under the leadership of Mao Zedong,
Chinese Communist forces made a long march from 1934 to
1936. During the two years, they had marched 25,000 li
-- 6,000 miles through mountainous country over 11 provinces,
break through Gomindang forces and the long march ended.
The long march has written a heroic poetry of human, it
like a red ribbon on the earth, has become a resolutely
courageous symbol of the Communist Party of China. The
bold and even sacrificial swath of long march will always
be the base of Chinese revolution and construction. The
win of the Long March also marks the start of New Chinese
revolution.
For carry the revolutionary tradition forward, remain
the spirits of Long March, the People’s Bank of China
will issue a set of “The 70th Anniversary of Victory of
Long March of the Chinese Red Army Gold and Silver Commemorative
Coins” in September 2006. This set of coins consists of
2 coins, including 1gold coin and 1 silver coin. |
