Qing-Zang-Railway runs from Xining
to Lhasa for all 1956 kilometers. It is an upland railway
which is the highest elevation, longest trackage and across
the most frozen ground. Qing-Zang-Railway will open to
traffic in June 2006. The opening is of benefit to West
Development, the developing of Qinghai and Tibet, the
living level of the people of our various nationalities
beside, uniting our various nationalities and achieving
the goal of ensuring our people a relatively comfortable
life.
To build the Qing-Zang-Railway is a consequential decision
of the Party Central Committee and the State Council of
the People's Republic of China for the developing of West
Development and all the nationalities of China. It is
an unprecedented immensity adventure to build the highest
elevation and longest trackage upland railway. During
these four years, all the builders followed the scientific
views of development, developed the spirit of Qing-Zang-Railway
of challenged limits and struggle for first class. They
sturdily struggles, tided over a difficulty, finally completed
the Qing-Zang-Railway, and wrote a new page of our history
of railway building.
For memory the great moment, impress the signal victory
achievement, the People’s Bank of China will issue a set
of “Qing-Zang-Railway Open to Traffic Gold and Silver
Commemorative Coins” in June 2006. This set of coins consists
of 2 coins, including 1gold coin and 1 silver coin.
