Issue Plan of 2003 CMPMCC Items

According to relative regulations and demands of the market, the People's Bank of China announced the issue plan of 2003 CMPMCC items in January 2003.
The issue of 2003 CMPMCC will still adhere to the issuing policies as "controlling the total mintage, adjusting the operational structure, ensuring the quality of coins, and renovating the design concept and craftsmanship". There will be 9 items, totally 40 categories with 18 in gold, 20 in silver and 2 in platinum.
The issue plan consists of 2 yearly issued items, 4 continued items and 3 new items. The gold coin will be 275,000 ounces, including 220,000 ounces Panda Bullion Gold Coins. The silver coin will be 2,002,000 ounces, including 600,000 ounces Panda Bullion Silver Coins. The platinum coin will be 5,800 ounces.
As it introduced, the minting of 2003 CMPMCC will adopt many technologies as mirror surface, multiplayer sand blasting, and alto relievo, hologram, and will strengthen the application of new technologies and anti-counterfeit arts. The appraisal work of the Design and Sample Coin Appraisal Committee for Chinese Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins will be further improved, and the research and investment on new technologies and anti-counterfeit arts will be enhanced to improve the designing and minting levels of CMPMCC.
