Lunar Year culture is Chinese peculiar traditional culture.
There are twelve interesting animals in Chinese lunar year.
They are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep,
Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig according to their turns. The
animals take their turns every twelve years. In Chinese traditional
culture, people born in the year of an animal usually possess
some characteristics of the animal. Year 2004 is the year
of the monkey, and people who are born in the year of the
monkey are always sharp and intelligent.
The lunar Year Series is an important category in CMPMCC.
Since its first issue in 1981, Chinese Lunar Year Commemorative
Precious Metal Coins has been issued for 22 years and has
formed a distinctive system. In 2003, the People's Bank of
China will issue Chinese Jiashen Year (Year of the Monkey)
Commemorative Gold and Silver Coins. There are totally twelve
coins, six in gold and six in silver.
